It was dark out, darker then usual- as if the very earth and sky could sense the sadness coming from the girl, who had walked along the streets, her arms wrapped around her small frame. She couldn’t believe it, how that man. Her red orbs that once been filled with a pool of innocence. How could he tell her not to continue studying as a shinobi- it was her way of life. She glared to the ground as she walked- wearing one of her most annoying dresses. It had been black and held Koi fish dancing around it, with splashes of red over it.
The dress complimented the girl’s main colors, her own eyes being the color of fresh blood, however at once they had held happiness, just anger and disbelief. How could her father- if she would ever want to call that monster her father, threaten her aunt’s life, and Kenshin, of all people- the only man who actually saw her as a person, not just bad luck, or however her dad had viewed her, she kicked a rock angrily, strands of her silver locks falling into her face. She chased after the rock- the streets had been dead, it had been night time, so few people actually were out, if any. She kicked it again, it bouncing off of a fence before stopping in the middle of the street.
She sighed, as she ran after the rock, it preoccupied her mind, and it hadn’t helped her that she hadn’t seen Kenshin around for a few days, the crimson eyes glanced down and she stopped chasing the rock, the place looked like a ghost town when it was this late. She hadn’t been too worried about it though. She gave another soft sigh, as she moved the strands of hair out of her face. ”Where are you Kenshin-kun..” she whispered to the shadows, that seemed to dance around her. She took another step forward, her arms falling limp to her sides, as it seemed the area had been getting colder, each passing minute.

Kenshin of course, was watching from afar as she did her little emotional dance.... It was a shame, If she was strong she would have either killed her father or ignored him - but, she was weak - and soon, Kenshin would have to handle her father and aunt as he did her sister - all her barriers, he would break down - the girl would hate him, but - maybe one day she would understand that - to truly be free, one has to break free... Jumping down, not even making a peep as he simply followed the girl for awhile.
The streets empty, the weather was cold - It was quite easy to take advantage of the weather as he pulled his jacket off and wrapped it around the girl's shoulders. "You know, I would never forgive myself with you out in this cold weather saying my name like that..." He smiled as he hugged the jacket and her tightly. "You seem upset, Tsukiko-chan" He said softly to her ear as he turned her around. "Want to talk about it?"
He smiled at her brightly, trying to cheer the girl up. "It's about your father isn't it?" He said softly, knowing it was for a fact but - Also because it normally was what she told him anyway's. "I wish he would live your own life, We have such short time here after all... Tsukiko-chan, you have to stand up to him..." |

She had been walking alone for quiet a while. She continued to walk, then sensed as if some one had been around her, unfortunately she had had been too distracted by her own thoughts as she kicked the rock back and forth. Her entire bodice went rigid as she felt something around her shoulders. Glancing back, she saw Kenshin. She smiled, and clung onto the jacket securely wrapped around her shoulders. ”Kenshin-kun!” She looked up to him, a smile on her face, as her crimson eyes reflected him through them- she had adorned him.
Kenshin, she figured- that she would always hold such fascination for him. He was strong- something her father had always wanted her to be. When she was around him she felt like she could keep her head up and take on everything. Yet, he proved everything her father had said was wrong, he was strong- but he was kind, at least too her. She felt safe around him, as if this whole world had been to throw her around, he was the one person..she could forever trust. She smiled and looked down, a soft blush decorated her face, as she faced him.
She looked down. He had known her so well, her fingers fiddling with each other, her hands gripping them tightly. Despite how cold it was, despite how dark it was, Kenshin was always there for her, the light in her darkness- the warmth that chased away the cold. She nodded her head. ” He’s..making me stop training as a ninja...to be a priestess..” she spoke softly, as her hair shadowed her sad eyes, that closed. ”I can’t stand up to him..” she whispered softly. At least not right now.
”One day I will though.” she said with a hopeful smile. ”Because one day.. I will be as strong like you...” she spoke slowly, her red eyes slowly looking up to him. Tsukiko had a ‘crush’ on Kenshin, atleast that’s what her Aunt had called it, she just thought he was an over all amazing person, she took a step forward and went to wrap her arms around him. She felt so safe around him, expecially when she was close to him. ”I’m still going to train though! “ she said with a wide smile. ”It’s lying..I know..but... it’s what I want to do.” she spoke, in all honesty it was for Kenshin, it’s because she knew that’s what he wanted her too do, and he was the only one who ever believed in her.
When her parents thought she was bad luck, he soothed her cries. She was a good luck charm to him, at least..that’s how she thought he thought. [/size]

Studying every movement of hers as this happened, The girl had indeed been one of the people he had close to him though his entire life mostly, The way she let others dictate her life for her was disgusting to him. Just like Rayne - They HAD to be freed by him...Even if it meant them getting mad at him, or even going to kill him later on - He would indeed carry that burden for them.
The look in her eye's sent a smile to his face, a bit for the wrong reason but still a smile. Listening to her explain that he had planned to stop her training he shook his head. He was disappointed in her, so very disappointed - She would break down in front of him but never stand up to those that mattered - He would fix that soon... "...I hope so, Tsukiko is an amazing ninja - The day you drop your dream is the day you are living for someone else rather then yourself." Slowly wrapping her hand's around her as well. "...You should not let him tell you what to do, It is your life..." He sighed looking at her.
"You know I am always here for you, but you have to be there for yourself as well Tsukiko... It kills me to see you in this type of shape..." Slowly sitting down on a bench and bringing her down right next to him as he gently rubbed her cheek looking into her eye's. "I care for you a lot Tsukiko...." He smiled a bit as he gently rubbed a few stray hairs from her face. "Do what you want to do, Anything that anyone forces on you is not your will but theirs..." Smiling a bit as he removed his hands from her cheek. "I've seen you training, you are happy there - And that smile looks amazing on you"
He was smooth, he knew what to say and when to say it - even now the sound of the girl's heart increased as he listened, it sounded quite lovely in fact to his ear's... |

The small normally pale girl, had looked down letting her hair to shadow her fact, as it felt like all the heat from her body had been pouring out of her face. Her cheeks a bright red. Kenshin-kun...really believed in her. She nervously kicked at the ground, happy for long hair- it covered her blush, when Kenshin-kun said stuff like that; even though she was rather certain that he had always seen her blushing. He thought she was an amazing ninja; of course she figured he was lying, she couldn’t see herself killing anyone, and she was the clumsiest person she knew. She continued to kick at the ground.
She smiled at Kenshin’s words. Live for herself. ”K-Kenshin-kun..” she spoke as he held her close, she didn’t know what to say. He sat her down on the bench, and her feet could barely touch the ground. She leaned forward and looked down, smiling. She wished she could stay like this forever- just Kenshin and her, she didn’t care if it was dark or lonely, he had been all she needed. She smiled and looked to him. ”You’re so smart, and brave and really cool..” she began to rant- which he would know what something she tended to do when she was nervous or brought up bad news. ”But..But...” she looked down, to her feet. ”I could never do that to that man, I will never call him my father..” she spoke, iuddenly her she got cotton mouth.
”But.. I’m not as strong as you...” she spoke, then looked down, biting on her bottom lip, leaning against his arm, it had been a force of habit, considering most of the time she was with him it just felt safer when she was close.
She paused, before looking up to the sky, her crimson eyes focusing on the sky. She wished she could be up there- it seemed so peaceful, it felt so empty... just how it was.. empty- just her and Kenshin. Her small hands would move to Kenshin’s heasentally, resting her hand against his own, looking away, the girl blushing as she looked down again. One day.. she’d be as peaceful as the sky- and her father would accept her for who she was, and what she wanted to be..right?

Hearing her compliments he softly smiled as he sighed. "You are all those thing's and beautiful to boot - Don't undersell yourself Tsukiko-chan" Rubbing her head softly as he smiled. "It's not about strength, It's about Will." Slowly leaning back with her head resting upon his chest as he sighed sfotly looking at her eye's. "It's about a persons will, To overcome obsticles.... to overcome life, as well as enemies..." Looking directly into her eye's as he gently rubbed her heated cheeks - She did look quite cute when she blushed after all.
"Tsukiko, You are just as strong as me you just don't see it yet.... " He held her hand tightly rolling it in his. "I think you will make a great ninja once you put your heart into it, You just have to overcome your main problem..." Rubbing her cheek softly with his free hand slowly cupping her chin. Lifting it to face him. "Let's see..." looking her eye's over. "Say what you want to me, Say what you truly feel about me..." He smiled a bit, he already knew she had a huge crush on him - If not really loved the man - After all he had been the one person in her life that was stable. "Now, Say it outloud instead of thinking it"
Maybe if she said this, it would open her up just a bit. "You will never know WHAT people will say until you say it, and defend it with convicition..." He wanted her to finally admit her crush on him, would she do it? Most likely not but at least he did try - he knew one day he had to get her that close to him to finally pull the carpet from underher. |

She had closed her eyes, his voice alone could rock her to sleep. She kept her eyes closed, listening to his words. Her eyes opened as he gripped the sides of her face. Will.. it was about will. She looked to his own eyes, her heart beat had been slamming against her rib cage- it would be a surprise to herself if he couldn’t see her heart, which practically was trying to rip through her rib cage. She shifted slightly, averting her eyes from his own gaze, she nervously chewed on her bottom lip, as she moved to rest her head back against his chest, staring to the ground, with calm eyes.
A great ninja..
The words echoed through her mind, as she looked up to him. Did he really mean that? The thought of being a great ninja like Kenshin-kun. The thought caused her stomach to twist and turn, her father would look up to her, if she was one, and Kenshin would be the smartest ninja in the village for figuring out her strength before anyone else. Her hand gripped his own, gripping it tightly- as if to assure herself that this had been no dream, this had been reality- it was like with him, she could take another path and not be scared, like she could wander through the darkness forever- and not once think about the light.
She paused, at his question- her heart seemed to skip a beat as her eyes widened. What did she feel? She paused, opening her mouth, as she pulled away from him, looking away. She felt as if her tongue had swollen in her mouth- she swallowed a dry gulp, as she stood up. ”Your Kenshin-kun, my good friend..“ she spoke as she took a step off of the bench, she was scared to tell him, frightened that he would pull away- despite all the words he had spoken to her, her in-securities held her back, her own ghosts chaining her down. Her bottom lip quivered, and she opened up her mouth to say something, perhaps the truth- that she loved him, that she knew she loved him from the moment she met him- from the moment he considered her his friend, he was there when she had no one.
” Can we walk around...?” she questioned him, gripping his jacket tightly to herself, taking in it’s scent as she waited for his answer.
